Our Qualified Staff
Chris and Lisa have been working with at-risk youth for over 22 years and have been transporting youth for over 16 years. Their extensive work in group homes, boarding schools and wilderness therapy programs prepared them for the transport business. They are passionate about their work find it fulfilling to help families. Chris is currently working as a Deputy Sheriff in Utah County and Lisa is working for her local county government. They have three boys and spend all of their free time together as a family.
There are virtually no regulations regarding the transport and location of adolescents to and from programs for troubled youth. This created a situation where basically anyone willing to take the risk of dealing with troubled teens can call themselves an escort service. Many "escort services" lack the experience and training Safe Journey believes should be required to transport or locate troubled adolescents.
Safe Journey employs a diverse staff of highly trained and experienced professionals dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of each adolescent we locate and/or escort. Our staff meet the following requirements upon employment:
At least one year experience working with troubled adolescents
A clean background with no criminal convictions
A clean driving record
A drug-free lifestyle, verified by a pre-employment drug screening
Current CPR and First Aid certification
Current non-violent physical intervention training
Additionally, Safe Journey provides an intensive 90-day training period for new staff . This training includes crisis intervention and in-depth information about common adolescent disorders and illnesses.
Safe Journey employs agents with specific professional skills to meet your needs. These skills include agents who are bilingual, registered nurses, licensed therapists, and those who specialize in psychiatric nursing and special education.
